The ITMS-SCU is an Intelligent Transport Management System - Single Control Unit designed for efficient management and surveillance of vehicles. It is intended for use in public transport such as buses. The idea of installing these kinds of Telematic systems was further strengthened after the Nirbhaya case and several such cases. This system is useful not only in the case of women's safety but also aids in various emergencies including medical and non-medical.

The Hardware board of the ITMS-SCU system comprises a carrier board called the baseboard and Cellular Module 4G module board called the communication board. The main aim of designing the ITMS with a separate Base Board is to facilitate easy change of the communication side components that are on a separate board of ITMS-SCU. So, in effect no harm or changes will be required on the base board and the communication side components can be easily updated.

The system is compliant with AIS 140 and IS 16833 standards. It can operate in a temperature range of 0°C ~ 70°C(TBD). The system operates using the vehicle’s battery and also has a backup battery intended only for the proper shutdown of the system. The Base Board is to be designed with a form factor of TBD.

  • Connectivity options: Multiple network options including 4G LTE, BT, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet, as well as communication interfaces such as USB 3.0/2.0, UART, SPI, and I2C, provide flexibility in connectivity.
  • Compliance with government standards: The system is compliant with AIS 140 and IS 16638 standards for government regulations.
  • Panic trigger: The panic trigger allows for quick emergency response.
  • Integration with emergency services: The system integrates with emergency server web app and emergency services for real-time tracking, monitoring, and response during emergencies.
  • Passenger announcement system: The system has a passenger announcement system interface for improved communication and safety.
  • Vehicle system interface: The system includes vehicle system interfaces such as RS485, RS232, CAN.
  • Firmware updates: The system supports FOTA & Target FOTA for seamless firmware updates and USB options for upgrading.
  • Surveillance features: The system has high-definition IP camera support for superior video quality and real-time camera recording status for enhanced surveillance.
  • Accurate location tracking: The system has GNSS status for accurate location tracking and external RTC for precise timekeeping.
