On Board Diagnostics (OBD) denotes a new era in Telematics. Although this is used by OEMs for the past decade, there is a huge gap between OBD and Vehicle Tracking in the market. Almost 90% of the fleet owners are still unaware about the advantages and value of information that the OBD data can bring to them! The reason is not the availability of an OBD tracker, but the ability to integrate this information to the existing system.

Currently almost all fleet owners use different types of vehicle trackers and sensors to monitor their vehicles, and the main challenge of providing OBD information would be the shortage of consistent data in different model vehicles and getting Parameter Identifiers (PIDs) and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Ever if we are able to fetch these information, the Software would not be capable of processing these information. Thus ultimately the fleet owner is forced to be satisfied with the basic data provided by a GPS tracker.
